Chicago Boy Medically Kidnapped for 20 Months Back Home - Family Strives to Overcome Trauma

It has been two years since “Baby Malik” was returned to his family. It has been a long journey of helping him to overcome the harm from being taken by Child Protective Services and Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, but his grandmother Lakisha Tanna says that they can finally “function like a normal family again.”

Malik just started K-5 kindergarten. He is doing well now, but that didn’t happen overnight.

He was out of his family’s custody for 1 year, 8 months, and a day. All that time in the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) had a lasting impact on him, and it wasn’t good. He came home with a great deal of insecurity, afraid to let Lakisha out of his sight.

There were times that Lakisha was afraid that he would never come home, and times that she feared for Malik’s very life.

She thanks God that he is safe now.

The public attention brought to their story by Health Impact News made a big difference, she believes. As long as DCFS and Lurie Children’s Hospital were able to operate in secrecy, there was no accountability and they were able to do whatever they wanted with Malik, including perform multiple experimental surgeries on him without his family’s consent.

To this day, Malik’s story remains one of the most horrific stories we have ever covered of medical abuse under Child Protective Services custody. Because our readers became involved in making phone calls and writing letters, holding the hospital and DCFS accountable, Malik was finally returned home.

Law Professor Attacks Homeschoolers - Believes State Should Choose Parents for Babies

A law professor at the oldest law school in the nation believes that there is no inherent right to parent one’s own children.

In an interview for CRTV about homeschooling, Professor James G. Dwyer told syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin that:

“The reason that parent-child relationship exists is because the state confers legal parenthood on people through its paternity and maternity laws.”

An investigation into Dwyer’s writings and history reveals that this alarming statement was not an exaggerated statement taken out of context or misrepresented by a conservative journalist. Instead, the statement appears to be a foundational core belief held by a man who formerly worked in New York state family courts as a Law Guardian, which is the equivalent of a Guardian ad Litem.

Dwyer’s writings now influences policy within the family court system.

      Dwyer argues:

“Courts should recognize that newborn babies, much more clearly than birth parents, have fundamental interests at stake in the state’s selection of legal parents and, therefore, a much stronger claim to constitutional protection.”

Disabled Man in Tennessee Loses Daughter - Finds Out She was Adopted to Strangers via Facebook

Matthew Marble is a disabled dad who loves his daughter very much, and claims he has never done anything to harm her.

When the state of Tennessee terminated his right to parent his child, he was shattered. Requests by family members to care for her were denied by the Department of Children’s Services (DCS).

Recently, he learned the devastating news–on Facebook–that his little girl has been adopted out. The news came right before Hailey’s 5th birthday. Several family members saw the public posts with her adoption photos. Matthew’s mother, Kim Trackwell wrote:

“To find out over Facebook that his daughter was adopted … the tears just won’t stop. I love you, Hailey!”

Oregon Pays $7 Million After Preschoolers Starved by Foster Parents

Oregon’s child welfare agency has agreed to pay $7 million to settle a lawsuit filed on behalf of two children who were nearly starved to death by foster parents the state approved for them.

The Yamhill County foster parents who for years withheld food from the two preschoolers and subjected them to other abuse, John and Danielle Yates, are each serving 2 ½ years in prison.

According to the lawsuit, caseworkers and their supervisors ignored complaints and obvious problems during the 2 1/2 years the children lived with the couple. A state review of the case found that a caseworker saw the emaciated children less than a month before doctors at Randall Children’s Hospital determined they suffered from chronic starvation. But the caseworker did nothing. At Randall, the lawsuit says, doctors found the children resembled victims of a famine: their ribs visible, their bellies protruding and their brain development severely affected.

Woman Sues After Spending Decade in Prison for False Shaken Baby Syndrome Conviction

Nearly a year after a judge overturned the murder conviction of a former suburban day care worker accused of killing a newborn in her care, the woman is suing investigators for allegedly withholding evidence and fabricating scientific findings, according to court documents.

Jennifer Del Prete, 46, spent nearly a decade in prison after she was found guilty of first-degree murder in the 2003 death of 14-month-old Isabella Zielinski. Authorities accused Del Prete of shaking the 4-month-old at the day care where Del Prete served as a caretaker. The baby died about 10 months later.

During her trial, a state medical expert testified that Isabella’s injuries could have been inflicted only on the day she became unresponsive, ignoring evidence that the baby had suffered an unexplained brain injury days earlier.

A Freedom of Information request filed by journalism students at Northwestern University’s Medill Justice Project uncovered a memo written by the lead Romeoville detective who worried that the pathologist who conducted the autopsy did not agree with the shaken baby syndrome theory.

Common Childbirth Practice Could Lead to Later False Diagnosis of Shaken Baby Syndrome

Pitocin is one of the most commonly used drugs in childbirth, given to the majority of birthing women to either induce or augment (speed up) labor.

Cytotec is also used by many doctors to induce labor.

As common as they are, they are not without significant risks to both mother and baby. There are known side effects that are rarely, if ever, told to parents.

Unfortunately, some of these risks also appear on the list of symptoms of Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS), or, as it is sometimes called, Abusive Head Trauma (AHT).

Hundreds of parents each year are accused of SBS. The National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome estimates that there are 1,300 cases of SBS per year in the U.S.

Many have their children seized by Child Protective Services. Some are imprisoned, and some have even been put to death.

How many accused parents are aware that simply having labor induced or augmented could cause Shaken Baby symptoms in their baby?

Perhaps more importantly, how many doctors, social workers, attorneys, and judges are aware of this? Or are they aware, but choose not to disclose this information?

Vaccine Requirement for Liver Transplant Nearly Cost Life of 11 Year Old Boy

Politics have no place in hospitals.

My son, who is 11 years old, suffered tremendously because of a mandatory vaccine policy at his transplant hospital.

Kendetrick was diagnosed with newly onset liver disease out of nowhere on October 18, 2016.

From that day forward, his life went out of control.

Several procedures and tests were done over the next few months. Experimenting with medications, there seemed to be no light at the end of the tunnel.

He was getting worse and worse. He stopped eating, stopped playing, stopped living.

He was evaluated for a liver transplant on January 12 and 13, 2017.

I was told they would not transplant my son or even list him on UNOS unless I agreed to get him fully up-to-date on his vaccines.

I stopped when he was a baby, with the support of his doctor, after a failed RSV vaccine and the fact that he was always sick. I did my homework. This is a child who has many problems. He has congenital heart disease as well and has never really been “healthy.”

When speaking with one of the members of the transplant team about the fact that they “required” him to get vaccinated I asked “what would happened if I don’t get them for him” and she said “we will make him comfortable and continue to try things, but he could not get listed on UNOS.”

Widespread Opposition of FDA Expansion on Electroshocking Children

Attorney Jonathan Emord and his co-counsel Kendrick Moxon have filed a Supplement to their Citizen Petition of August 2016, protesting the FDA’s Proposed Order to reclassify and make more readily available the Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Device used to give “shock-treatment.” The reclassification would make it easier for doctors to give the treatment. Shock treatment is well-known as the punishment given actor Jack Nicholson in the movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. More recently it was portrayed in the TV series Homeland when given to the star, destroying her memory and intelligence. Memory loss and brain damage are the central issue in the attorneys’ filing.

An NAACP Resolution calls for a banning of electroshock treatment on children, youths and young adults up to the age of 21. The Resolution points to four U.S. states—California, Colorado, Texas and Tennessee—having banned the pediatric use of electroshock and a United Nations report on Torture that recommends “an absolute ban on all forced” electroshock. African Americans are more at risk of this potentially brain-damaging procedure as:

“psychiatrists now diagnose African American men in mental hospitals as having a serious mental disorder at a rate of up to 1,500 percent higher than white men,” according to the Resolution.

"Pedophile Farm" Alleged in Lawsuit Against Washington Foster Care Home for Boys

Centralia’s Kiwanis Vocational Home, open from 1979 to 1994, was intended to be a safe place for wayward boys, a state-licensed foster home where 11- to 17-year-olds could get an education and job skills in a “family atmosphere,” according to a 1986 Chronicle article.

However, four lawsuits from former residents paint an alarmingly different picture.

“This was a pedophile farm,” said attorney Darrell Cochran, of Tacoma, who represents plaintiffs in all four cases, two of which were filed Tuesday.

The lawsuits each allege physical, sexual and emotional abuse by both staff and residents of the home, intentional understaffing with unqualified workers and financial fraud and negligence by staff and state agencies, including the state Department of Social and Health Services, which licensed the facility.

“These individual defendants continued to support KVH despite clear evidence that it was a breeding ground for sexual abuse and sexually charged physical abuse,” the lawsuit states.

Furthermore, Cochran said evidence gathered in the cases shows conspiracy rife with “political corruption” with the facility acting to conceal allegations of abuse while continuing to profit from state reimbursements for services.

Judge Orders Children Home in Kansas Case with Navy Dad Who used Medical Cannabis

Raymond and Amelia Schwab didn’t know what to expect when they went into a Kansas courtroom on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. The Colorado couple has been fighting to get their children back since the Department for Children and Families (DCF) seized custody of them in April 2015. During that time, they have been told that their parental rights would be terminated, that their children would be returned home, and everything in between.

It has been an emotional roller coaster, and 5 of their 6 children have been in foster care for more than 2 years. (Their oldest son was 19 when his younger siblings were taken and therefore avoided foster care.)

Raymond Schwab, an honorably discharged Navy veteran, and his wife Amelia took to Facebook Live with an update for thousands of their followers, many of whom have been praying for their children to be returned to the family.

The update was a mixture of good news and bad news – the children are supposed to be returned home, just not immediately. They were told that the children should be home by Christmas.

Mother Blamed for Baby's Vaccine Injuries - Baby Adopted Out as Parents Face Jail

In December 2013, in the State of Florida, Ms. Rebecca Wood gave birth to Javoni, a seven-pound baby boy with mild infant jaundice. Doctors assured her that jaundice was relatively common in newborns and told her that he would recover from the condition in a few days.

Although his health initially improved, his health deteriorated significantly within hours of receiving a series of several vaccinations just eight weeks later. He became very ill and he had constant diarrhea. Despite his mother following all of the pediatrician’s advice, instead of improving as one would expect, Javoni’s health continued to deteriorate. Doctors diagnosed him with various medical conditions, including metabolic bone disease.

After x-rays showed several previous broken bones, the parents were investigated by DCF (Department of Children’s Families) for alleged abuse.

There has been clear evidence throughout this case to support Javoni’s parents. His parents have obtained written reports from at least four separate experts, stating that Javoni not only suffered from rickets but also from a metabolic bone disease and had a family history of these conditions.

Despite this evidence, it appears that Child Protective Services have chosen to ignore the evidence and are adopting out this young baby to strangers.

If this is not bad enough, his parents have since been charged with neglect and abuse and are now facing the very real possibility of going to jail as a result

Two years ago, a woman with two children was celebrating her renewed life after cannabis oil had taken her out of her deathbed from terminal Crohn’s disease. She had undergone 16 surgeries and several toxic pharmaceuticals, one dangerously experimental. The doctors had finally given up.

Shona Banda’s health had worsened until she was bedridden and “waiting to die,” until she started using cannabis oil. The results were miraculous. Shona Banda became a medical cannabis advocate in her home town of Garden City, an hour from the Colorado border, in a dangerous state, Kansas, for that type of activity.

After surviving a terminal illness by using cannabis, she was arrested in 2015 and faced a potential sentencing of 30 years in prison. Her son was taken into custody by CPS. Her trial dragged on for two years before she survived the legal system by accepting a second plea deal arrangement earlier this month, August, 2017, despite her initial feeling that she could win the case.

7 Florida Children Taken from Parents Due to Poverty and Disability Come Home After 3 Years

More than three years ago, a Filipino-American father living in Florida made a promise to his children:

“I will never stop fighting for you to come home.”

Though there were times that Freddie Verzosa and his wife Tracey thought that it would never happen, all of the “7 Angels” have been reunited with their parents. The family is rejoicing and extremely thankful that, after all this time, they can finally all be together again.

The six older children were taken from their home by Florida Children and Families (DCF) on July 9, 2014, based on the family’s financial situation and allegations that Tracey, who has a mild intellectual disability, wasn’t capable of taking care of her children while her husband worked.

When their youngest baby Taylor was born, DCF showed up at the hospital to seize the 2 day old breastfeeding newborn from her mother’s breast, simply because they already had an open case on the family.

Their heartbreaking story captured international attention. The family’s Facebook page quickly grew to almost 8,000 followers.

Their story struck a chord with people all over the world who do not believe that the government should be able to tear a loving family apart because of poverty or a disability. There were never any allegations that the Verzosa parents ever harmed their children. Some within DCS told them that “love wasn’t enough” for them to parent their own children.

Colorado Mom Accused of Shaken Baby Syndrome and Child's Death Has Conviction Thrown out After 13 Years

An Alamosa judge has ordered a new trial in the case of Krystal Voss, who was convicted in 2004 of child abuse in the death of her nineteen-month-old son and sentenced to twenty years in prison. The reversal is another setback for advocates of “shaken baby syndrome,” a diagnosis that’s been used in court to prosecute hundreds of caregivers for abuse over the past three decades but has been attacked by skeptics as junk science.

In a 139-page opinion dated August 7, Alamosa District Court Judge Pattie Swift ruled that Voss’s conviction should be thrown out because her attorneys at trial failed to summon any medical experts to challenge the prosecution’s claim that Kyran Gaston-Voss’s death was the result of a violent shaking. The decision comes after new testimony by nationally recognized pediatric specialists that the toddler’s injuries, including a devastating brain injury, could have been caused by an accidental fall.

At trial, the prosecution’s medical expert asserted that the fatal injuries were consistent with a violent shaking. The jury took only six hours to deliver its verdict: guilty of knowing and reckless child abuse resulting in death.

Yet the basic premises behind shaken-baby prosecutions — for example, that baby-shaking produces a unique constellation of symptoms, distinct from a short fall — have been under attack for some time, and were even back when Voss went to trial. Dr. Robert Bux, the coroner who conducted the autopsy on Kyran, told Westword in 2003 that he didn’t believe in shaken-baby syndrome and found it “difficult to swallow the concept.” Yet the defense never called him as a witness to refute the prosecution’s medical expert.

Voss, has already served thirteen years of her now-vacated twenty-year sentence.

School Teachers and Other School Officials Being Trained on How to Report Your Children to CPS

As “Back to School” time approaches, parents everywhere are preparing – shopping for school supplies and clothes, adjusting schedules, and making arrangements for after-school care.

The public needs to be aware that, while parents get ready to send children back to public school, teachers and staff in the schools are undergoing mandatory training right now that will result in some children being taken from their families, perhaps permanently.

Several sources from within the system have told us that the first 6 weeks of school are the time of year when CPS seizes more children than any other time of the year.

According to the 2015 Child Maltreatment Report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the highest percentage of reports of child abuse and neglect comes from educational personnel. In 2015, teachers and other school staff made 18.4% of the total reports to CPS, up from 17.7% in 2014.

Under the guise of “protecting children,” Child Protective Services is training school personnel all over the country about reporting parents for all sorts of things that may be considered “signs of abuse.”

These “signs” include: not wearing a jacket when it is cold out, not having school supplies or lunch money, having too many tardies, or being withdrawn or depressed at school.

Because they are “mandatory reporters,” teachers and staff are being told that they can lose their jobs, be sued, or go to jail for not reporting things that could happen in any normal, non-abusive household.

Vaccine Extremist Pediatricians Want Child Protective Services to Remove Children from Parents Who Object to Vaccines

Pediatricians who hold the most extreme views on vaccines (ALL people should be vaccinated with ALL vaccines ALL the time by force if necessary) are starting to publicly call for children who are not vaccinated with all recommended vaccines to be removed from their parents by reporting the parents to Child Protective Services.

Similar to what happened in 2015 when the media and pro-vaccine extremists used the California Disneyland measles outbreak as an excuse to attack parents with children not vaccinated as the cause, so the most recent call to punish parents who choose not to vaccinate is using a supposed outbreak of measles in Minnesota to justify such severe actions.

As we saw in 2015, the Disneyland measles outbreak was completely blown out of proportion by the mainstream media who did not accurately report on the facts. For example, many of those who contracted measles at Disneyland were already vaccinated against measles, and the “outbreak” (90 cases) was hardly significant, as similar outbreaks have occurred throughout the U.S. the past 30 years, and among a highly vaccinated population.

What we saw in 2015 was a rash of proposed state bills to mandate vaccines, using the Disneyland measles “outbreak” as an excuse.

Most of those bills were defeated in local state legislatures, and that trend has continued to 2017. The public, overwhelmingly, does NOT want the state forcing parents to vaccinate their children.

With legislative efforts to force vaccines upon the public failing across the country, is the new strategy to have doctors start reporting parents who delay or refuse certain vaccines to local Child Protective Services (CPS) for “medical neglect”?

Former Amish Mother who Lost her Children to CPS Finds Her Own Father for First Time

Parents whose children are taken from them often fear that their children will forget them, especially if the children are very young when Child Protective Services steps in. However, there is a deep need inside human beings to know our biological parents, even if we don’t remember anything about them. There is something inside that longs to know where we came from and wants to connect with the truth.

Elizabeth Byler is a mother of medically kidnapped children who has prayed that her children will not forget her. She also understands this longing from the perspective of the child, because she was raised in the Amish community by people who were not her parents.

Since Elizabeth’s story broke on Health Impact News, there have been some interesting developments with regards to finding her biological father.

After a lifetime of not knowing anything about him, she believes that she has finally found her real father, and she couldn’t be happier about it. They still need a DNA test for confirmation, but all signs indicate that he is the daddy she has been searching for all of her life.

The reality is that, no matter what Child Protective Services or any other organization or person does, there is a bond between parent and child that no piece of paper or judge’s decree can completely sever. Elizabeth’s journey of finding her father clearly demonstrates that fact.

This is a perspective that we do not often get to share.

Tennessee Sister of Baby Steffen Traumatized Seeing Dad Arrested During Chuck E. Cheese Visit

Steffen Rivenburg, Sr., looked forward to his visit with his daughter Annalise. It was the first visit since Baby Steffen’s funeral more than 3 weeks ago. This would truly be a special visit – at Chuck E. Cheese, where Annalise should have been able to enjoy time playing with her Daddy.

Instead, she watched him be escorted out of the restaurant by police.

Her grandmother, Lisa Rivenburg, said that she felt like it was a set-up. There was no way that her son was going to miss his scheduled visit with Annalise.

“I cannot believe that they used my granddaughter as BAIT to get him here to arrest him!”

There was no warrant for his arrest. They asked, and were told by police that they didn’t have to show one. Lisa told Health Impact News that her son was not read his Miranda rights. She later learned that the charge was “contempt,” presumably over the demand, without a court order, for a hair follicle drug test.

The entire family is very concerned about Annalise, a little girl who was taken from her family, placed in a home with strangers, and watched her baby brother get sick, die, and be buried. She had surely looked forward to visiting her parents and playing with them at Chuck E. Cheese. It was a 2 hour drive from her foster house to meet them.

Now, the place that is supposed to be associated with fun and being a kid will forever be associated with the traumatic memory of seeing her daddy arrested.

Oregon Couple Loses Children due to "Low IQ"

Earlier this year (May, 2017) we covered the story of Amy Fabbrini and Eric Ziegler of Bend, Oregon, who have been fighting to prevent Oregon Department of Human Services’ Child Protection Services from terminating their parental rights to their children for nearly four years.

The agency has deemed the couple “incapable” of parenting. CPS claims that the couple cannot provide for their children because they are believed to be intellectually limited. Two of their children were removed shortly after birth, before the couple even had a chance to parent them.

This label of “incapable” placed on Amy and Eric comes as a shock to those who know the couple, given that both of the parents graduated from high school with a standard diploma, and both ranked in the middle of their graduating class.

Since we have published Amy and Eric’s story, it has gained the attention of other media sources.

While we are happy anytime this problem of child kidnapping by state Child “Protection” Services gains media attention, the public needs to understand that these problems are systemic and are an epidemic – they are not isolated cases. They represent a very well-funded (many billions of dollars) state-sponsored system designed for only one purpose: to remove children from families.

Once one understands the reasons why these stories happen, it will easily be seen that this is a very corrupt system, and we are justified in referring to the actions as “kidnapping,” and to the system overall as a “child trafficking” system.

We are not choosing to use emotional language to highlight a few egregious cases. We are accurately describing what is happening all across the United States, every single day.

Arizona Child Removed from Loving Family and Placed into Foster Care Where She was Repeatedly Raped - then 80% of Body Burned

Earlier this year (June 2017) we reported on one of the most horrific examples of child abuse of a child who was taken into state custody by a “Child Protection” social service agency, and put into the foster care system, that we have ever reported.

We reported how one Arizona child was repeatedly raped as part of a pornographic pedophile ring in foster care, and then placed into a different foster home where 80% of her body was burned with scalding water.

We were only able to report on this because a court-appointed guardian of the child sued the Arizona Department of Child Safety, making the alleged crimes public knowledge.

However, what was not published by the general media who reported on this story was the birth mother’s perspective, and why the child was taken away from her family in the first place.

Health Impact News has interviewed the mother and investigated her story, and we now bring it to the public.

The question arises: What horrors did the real parents do that could justify CPS putting a child into such heinous situations?

Our investigation reveals the shocking truth: nothing.

This story is yet another example of just how corrupt child “protective” services have become, especially in Arizona.

16 Year Old Mississippi Girl Assaulted by Mental Health Facility Staff and Forcibly Injected with Gardasil Vaccine

A lawsuit has been filed this month (July 2017) in a Mississippi district court against Canopy Children’s Solutions, a children’s mental health facility in Saucier, Mississippi, for assaulting a 16 year old girl residing at the facility, and physically forcing her to receive the Gardasil 9 HPV vaccine against her wish and the wish of her mother.

Upon admission, the 16 year old girl’s mother made it clear that she was not consenting to having her daughter vaccinated. She made a point of telling the staff that she was opposed to the HPV vaccine, and especially wanted to avoid that one.

43 days later, her Case Manager, Travys Velez demanded that the 16 year old girl be injected with the Gardasil vaccine. The girl refused, stating that neither she nor her mother consented to the vaccine.

Mr. Velez then allegedly threatened the girl, stating that she would not be allowed to see her family that weekend, and that she would be punished if she did not get the vaccine.

She physically resisted the staff who forced her into a van to take her to the health department to receive the Gardasil injection. She was allegedly screaming and crying and physically resisting Travys Velez and other staff for more than two hours while trying to avoid being injected with the Gardasil vaccine.

She was eventually worn down and transported by van to Harrison County Health Department, where they forcibly injected her with Gardasil 9.

The VAXXED team recently interviewed a mother from New Jersey, now living in Florida, about her vaccine-damaged son. Her son has brain injuries, and initially she was accused of Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS). They removed her other child from her home, and tried to get her to confess to a crime she never committed.

Her son almost died, and at one point they encouraged her and her husband to just donate his organs.

But he pulled through, and with the use of alternative therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy and medical cannabis (CBD oil), he has seen significant improvement.

She was caught up in what lawyers and others who represent families say is a troubling and longstanding phenomenon: the power of Children’s Services to take children from their parents on the grounds that the child’s safety is at risk, even with scant evidence.

The agency’s requests for removals filed in family court rose 40 percent in the first quarter of 2017, to 730 from 519, compared with the same period last year, according to figures obtained by The New York Times.

In interviews, dozens of lawyers working on these cases say the removals punish parents who have few resources. Their clients are predominantly poor black and Hispanic women, they say, and the criminalization of their parenting choices has led some to nickname the practice: Jane Crow.

“It takes a lot as a public defender to be shocked, but these are the kinds of cases you hear attorneys screaming about in the hall,” said Scott Hechinger, a lawyer at Brooklyn Defender Services. “There’s this judgment that these mothers don’t have the ability to make decisions about their kids, and in that, society both infantilizes them and holds them to superhuman standards. In another community, your kid’s found outside looking for you because you’re in the bathtub, it’s ‘Oh, my God’” — a story to tell later, he said. “In a poor community, it’s called endangering the welfare of your child.”

It has been well documented that Child Welfare Services across the country disproportionately targets poor families in removing children, when often their only “crime” is being poor.

Patricia Tornberg and Steffen Rivenburg, Sr., thought they were going to court this morning, July 17, 2017, to try to bring Baby Steffen’s big sister Annalise home to be with family members and out of foster care. Instead, the judge had them arrested and thrown into jail.

Family members and supporters alike are shocked at the turn of events, and see this as another way for the court and DCS to grasp at any way to justify their actions and deflect attention away from their role in Baby Steffen’s death.

Last month (June 2017) Baby Steffen was taken off of life support against the wishes of his family, and before the family could find a second doctor’s opinion regarding his condition. Baby Steffen was removed from his parents while still healthy, and yet the parents had no say over his medical care or removal from life support.

Tennessee DCS also removed Baby Steffen’s sister, Annalise, from the parents.

Advocate Serra Frank told Health Impact News:

The hearing was supposed to be about hearing motions for Annalise to be placed with family members.

Grandmother Lisa Rivenburg and two aunts, each willing and able to care for Annalise, were present at the hearing, but the motions were never heard. Judge Wayne Shelton reportedly stated that he did not intend to hear their motions.

Instead, the focus turned to a motion filed on July 1 without the family’s knowledge by Margaret Parker, attorney for DCS, to compel the parents to submit to drug testing.

When Nhyariah was 3 1/2 years old, Jasmin Mack says that a genetic counselor from the University of Florida hospital in Gainsville offered her money to enter her daughter into medical research studies, but she refused.

After moving to Georgia, the first doctor they saw recognized how rare Nhyariah’s condition was and allegedly commented:

“Oh! I have some friends next door that would LOVE to see you!”

This was Henrietta Egleston Hospital for Children in Atlanta, which is the pediatric teaching hospital affiliate for the Emory University School of Medicine, located on the campus of Emory University.

Even though Nhyariah was not sick, they immediately admitted her to the hospital, and used the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) to take over custody of Nhyariah. Jasmin was kicked out of the hospital.

Today, Nhyariah’s condition has deteriorated greatly while in state care due to undergoing several surgeries, and her mother Jasmin just wants to take her back to Florida, as she fears that the medical professionals in Georgia will soon kill her daughter.

“I feel like if she can get out of this hospital, she can have a chance. She’s a rare child. She’s made it this 10 years.”

Baby Steffen was buried on Friday, July 7, almost a month after his death when DCS, Vanderbilt hospital, and a judge decided to overrule his parents’ rights to make decisions for their baby. The Tennessee family was thankful that Steffen’s big sister was allowed to leave the foster home to attend her brother’s funeral. Even so, social workers kept a tight reign on Annalise, and threatened to take her away if the family continued to take photos.

The children’s grandmother Lisa Rivenburg said it was their last time together as a family with Baby Steffen, and she felt that the social workers’ threats were a cruel addition to an already difficult day.

Their fight continues to try to bring Annalise home and to find answers to what happened to Baby Steffen in DCS custody.

Today, Health Impact News is reporting on the story of Francis August Schaeffer Cox. Schaeffer Cox is allegedly a political prisoner today, serving a 26 year prison sentence for crimes he never committed.

Schaeffer Cox, a well known 2nd Amendment lobbyist who had won 38% of the vote in a State House election, became the subject of an intense FBI investigation after he angered state and federal authorities by openly accusing them of drug trafficking and child prostitution.

Oil pipeline service company executive, Bill Allen, who had been spared prosecution on multiple counts of sexual abuse of minors in exchange for his 2008 testimony against pro-2nd Amendment Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, was among those implicated. “The State Wide Drug Taskforce supplied children for sex to a number of state and federal officials in exchange for those official’s cooperation in concealing the ongoing illicit drug trafficking activities of the State Wide Drug Taskforce,” Schaeffer Cox said.

Not long after these public statements, the same departments that Schaeffer Cox accused of corruption sent in numerous provocateurs to try to switch his efforts off of exposing corruption and on to violent vigilante-type actions. Schaeffer Cox, who believes in non-aggression and voluntarism, can be heard on multiple undercover recordings telling the provocateurs, “No, I’m going to pull a Ghandi, NOT a Rambo” and “if we turn violent, people will see us as the bad guys.”

In what some have called a deviation from accepted investigative techniques, the FBI responded to Schaeffer Cox’s rejection of their violent proposals by creating a threat to his children that could serve as a motivator.

Working with the Office of Child Services, the FBI filed a child neglect complaint regarding Schaeffer and his wife Marti’s 1 and 1/2 year old son. Because they do not require probable cause, child neglect complaints are an attractive tool for investigators who wish to enter a home, but lack any evidence to support a warrant.

Judicial corruption is a topic we have reported on frequently at Health Impact News, particularly in our Medical Kidnapping stories on MedicalKidnap.com.

A documentary film called Divorce Corp. states:

“More money flows through the family courts, and into the hands of courthouse insiders, than in all other court systems in America combined – over $50 billion a year and growing.”

                                                                    More about the documentary:

“Through extensive research and interviews with the nation’s top divorce lawyers, mediators, judges, politicians, litigants and journalists, DIVORCE CORP. uncovers how children are torn from their homes, unlicensed custody evaluators extort money, and abusive judges play god with people’s lives while enriching their friends.

This explosive documentary reveals the family courts as unregulated, extra-constitutional fiefdoms. Rather than assist victims of domestic crimes, these courts often precipitate them. And rather than help parents and children move on, as they are mandated to do, these courts – and their associates – drag out cases for years, sometimes decades, ultimately resulting in a rash of social ills, including home foreclosure, bankruptcy, suicide and violence. Solutions to the crisis are sought out in countries where divorce is handled in a more holistic manner.”

The film has a YouTube channel featuring the “Family Law Report.” We are including here a 4-part series on judicial corruption in family law with film producer Joe Sorge and New York attorney and former assistant district attorney Susan Settenbrino.

The Rivenburgs still don’t have the answers that they seek as to what happened at Vanderbilt once Baby Steffen was taken into Department of Children’s Services (DCS) custody. They are waiting for the results of a private autopsy, funded by donations from people who believe that the family deserves unbiased answers.

Those results could take up to 3 months. The fate of Annalise may be decided in less than 3 weeks. DCS has requested a hearing to terminate the parental rights of Steffen and Patricia. That hearing is scheduled for July 24.

                                                                      • Homeschooling mother teaching kids private lessons in geography

Marie Cohen’s latest column in The Chronicle calls for requiring that every parent who homeschools a child bring that child before a mandated reporter of child abuse for periodic inspection.

As with every other well-intentioned proposal to intrude on families, the problem with this one is the harm it would do to children.

The singling out of homeschoolers is odd for several reasons.

The children most at risk of abuse or neglect are the youngest. So the same logic behind this proposal requires that every child from birth to at least kindergarten age also be presented for periodic inspection.

Cohen even is selective in the lessons she chooses to draw from horror stories; and once again, horror stories are Cohen’s entire argument. In the two Iowa cases she cites, the children were homeschooled.

They also were adopted from foster care. In one case, relatives desperate to take in the child were turned down.

Yet Cohen offers no sweeping conclusions about regulating foster care or adoption.

Michael Brooks is a Tennessee dad whose children were taken from him by Child Protective Services after he used medical cannabis to treat his Hepatitis C. After conventional medical treatments failed to cure his terminal Hepatitis C, he turned to medical cannabis and soon his Hepatitis C was in remission. But unfortunately, Tennessee DCS used his medical cannabis treatment as a reason to take away his children.

His health deteriorated rapidly when he stopped using the treatment in the attempt to comply with requirements by Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (DCS) in order to get his children back.

He was set to have his rights terminated last month, but his case was continued. Michael took to Facebook Live on June 26, 2017, to record a video for his followers, and it looks like things may be turning around for the Brooks family. His health has begun to improve and there is again hope of his getting visitation back.

On Facebook Live, Michael said that he had been taking CBD oil, or cannabidiol oil and Moringa oil for the past two weeks. CBD oil is legal in all 50 states, as it contains almost no THC, the chemical that gets one “high.”

His body has responded so well that he has been able to throw away his other 20 medications.

In the Facebook Live video, Michael Brooks said that he expects to go to court on July 19, and he is hopeful about getting visitation with his children back.

                                                                            • Aniya-white-hat-FB

Doctors call it a “medication administration error.” During a routine check-up at her pediatrician’s office, 4-month old Aniya was accidentally given the Gardasil 9 vaccine, and she hasn’t been the same since.

Anita Vasquez of Victoria, Texas, herself a nurse, says that “doctors are in denial” that any of the medical issues that began after her daughter received the shot are related to the vaccine.

Aniya was a happy and healthy breastfed baby before her 4-month doctor visit. Her only illness was an ear infection which had been cleared up with antibiotics shortly before that fateful day of December 29, 2016. Since then, she has suffered numerous health issues and several hospitalizations.

Rather than acknowledge the possibility that the Gardasil 9 vaccine contributed to the decline in Aniya’s health, doctors and Child Protective Services have reportedly blamed the mother. Her desperate search for answers has led instead to her being accused of Munchausen by Proxy, or “medical child abuse,” and her baby has been seized by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).

Anita told Health Impact News that her concerns about the vaccine have been dismissed and ignored by virtually everyone involved in her daughter’s care. DFPS refers to her “unfounded concerns” about the Gardasil 9 vaccine. She believes that they are trying to cover up the dangers of the vaccine.

This is any mother’s worst nightmare, and no one deserves this.

David Frodsham was arrested and accused of sexual misconduct with a minor, procuring minors for sex, and possessing and/or manufacturing child pornography. Law enforcement’s investigation revealed a video made by David Frodsham of a 3- or 4-year-old girl being penetrated by an adult male and screaming for her mommy. David Frodsham pled guilty rather than face a trial and has been sentenced to 17 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections. David Frodsham was part of a pornography ring involving numerous children in his pornography and the procurement of sex for the ring.

Unfortunately, things did not improve much when the state moved Jane into the care of Justin and Samantha Osteraas, her guardian says. According to the complaint, “Defendant Samantha Osteraas submerged and held down Jane Doe, a 5-year-old, in a bath of scalding hot water. Jane Doe suffered severe burns over 80 percent of her body. When police arrived, there was blood on the floor and pieces of Jane Doe’s skin were falling off her body. There were bruises to her neck and arms along with other signs of trauma.”

It was the best news ever for Chris and Keshia Turner of East Tennessee. After two and a half years battling Child Protective Services, their children were coming home.

On Friday, June 24, 2017, Keshia posted the happy news on Facebook that they were on their way to pick up their children.

When Health Impact News first spoke with the Turners more than two years ago, their oldest son Brayden had been taken from them by the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (DCS) after doctors discovered that her son had multiple fractures in various stages of healing. Keshia was accused of Shaken Baby Syndrome and abuse.

Keshia told us that she believed that her son Brayden was coming home eventually. Her faith in God was what kept her going, she said, and she trusted that God would one day bring good out of all that they were going through.

Then, she gave birth to Carson in September 2015. Because DCS had an ongoing case against Keshia, her 4 day old baby was seized by DCS and placed with his brother.

Through it all, the Turners fought hard to get their children back. When we first spoke with the couple more than 2 years ago, they knew that there had to be some kind of medical explanation for Braydon’s broken bones and symptoms. However, once a doctor accused the parents of abuse, they said that the doctors stopped looking for answers.

But Keshia did not stop looking. She knew that there had to be answers that the doctors had missed.

Virginia Mount was a stay-at-home mom to two beautiful boys. She lived a normal and happy life with her boyfriend and two sons, Jace, 15 months old, and Colten, three years old. In their recreation time they enjoyed fishing, sailing, picnicking, and simply relaxing and playing together.

On November 11, 2015, Jace stood up on top of the sofa. As he came tumbling down onto the floor, his arm broke and the whole world he lived in with his family, shattered to pieces.

After the fall, as she waited in the Nationwide Children’s Hospital waiting room in Columbus, Ohio, Virginia felt as if time had frozen.

Initially, she didn’t think the fall was very serious. After all, it was just a tumble. But when he was transferred from their local hospital to this one, Virginia felt a knot form in her stomach.

At that point, though, her greatest fear was merely that Jace would have to endure the physical pain of an injury.

She had no idea that her entire family was about to be destroyed, that both her sons would suffer the devastating trauma of losing their families, possibly forever, and that she would be incarcerated for a crime she did not commit.

                                                                                    • Steffen-Annalise-and-Lisa-FB

The Rivenburg family was back in court on Monday morning, June 19. This time, it was to fight for Annalise, the big sister of Baby Steffen, the baby who was taken off of life support on June 8.

The family, including aunts, uncles, and cousins, were hopeful that the court would send little Annalise back home to be with her family, but that did not happen.

Instead, they learned that the Department of Children’s Services (DCS) now plans to terminate her parents’ parental rights and place her for adoption, presumably with the foster family with whom she and Baby Steffen were placed 4 months ago, just before the baby got sick.

                                                                                      They are devastated.

Patricia’s heart-wrenching sobs could be heard in the background as a family member told the news to Health Impact News. The thought of losing Annalise seems an unbearably cruel blow to the family that is still reeling from what they call Baby Steffen’s “potentially preventable” death.

The parents are well-educated, and each is employed.

Yechezkela was born prematurely with many medical conditions. Her parents are Messianic Jews and at times requested kosher equivalents of medications, which are available. As loving parents, they wanted to be involved in the medical decisions regarding their daughter.

On March 5, the Colorado Department of Human Services was granted an emergency custody order to seize Yael. The parents were removed from Yael’s hospital. On that same day, the hospital was granted a court order to give Yael medicines for acid reflux— which were allegedly not even necessary according to the hospital’s own records.

By May 19, the Muhls discovered that the foster family could stay at the hospital with Yael, but her natural parents were no longer allowed to stay by her side.

On the morning of his death, Steffen’s parents and grandparents were in court pleading for his life, but their cries were drowned out by the voices of others who literally argued for his death. The events surrounding Baby Steffen’s death on Thursday afternoon, June 8, are disturbing, and the family wants answers.

The prayer of thousands of people around the world was that Baby Steffen’s heart would beat and that he would breathe when doctors at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt removed him from the ECMO machine.

According to Lisa Rivenburg, that is exactly what happened. “His heart was beating!”

But she says that the doctors didn’t give him the option of surviving. A doctor told the family that his heart wouldn’t beat for long, so they wanted to give him painkillers “to relax him.”

Just a short time before he was removed from life support, Baby Steffen was kicking his feet and moving his arms in response to his family. While his parents still pleaded for his life and for time with their baby, Lisa tried to record her grandson’s final moments.

She reports that a Vanderbilt police officer told her to stop recording: “I’m getting ready to arrest you.”

She said that he started to reach for something. She didn’t know whether he was reaching for his handcuffs or gun or something else, but she stopped recording.

Grandma did not get her phone back until she was seated in her car. She and the baby’s parents were escorted under armed guard out of the hospital. “We were treated like criminals!”

Meagan Corser of the Texas Home School Coalition recently published an article about the status of Child Protective Services (CPS) in Texas regarding the evidence required to terminate parental rights.

What she reports confirms what Health Impact News has exposed in many other states, that the vast majority of children taken away from parents are not for actual “abuse” where the child is in imminent danger.

Corser reports that by Texas CPS’ own admission: “in 75 percent of cases they lack sufficient evidence to support the accusations they made against the parent.”

That may seem like a high number to those who do not follow the articles we publish regularly at MedicalKidnap.com, but from our sources that number is probably too low, not too high. CPS whistleblowers have told us that only about 5% of the cases where children are removed from their parents are for actual cases of abuse that can be substantiated.

In a recent report by ABC TV6 in Indiana, attorneys there report that “only 15% of children taken away from their parents are ever substantiated for abuse or neglect.”

The Shoars disputed that claim, saying that the caregiver to whom Arizona DCS refers is someone that they feel quite confident about – a retired police officer and his wife.

The judge ruled that there “was no impending danger to remove the child.” He noted that Nevada CPS has been in the Shoars’ home on previous occasions, and found no cause to remove the child, who was born in Nevada. He stated: “There is not a factual statement within the report to warrant removal of the child.”

Tabitha and Jeff Shoars’ youngest child, Nytallieya, was seized early Monday afternoon by Nevada Child Protective Services. The Shoars are devastated and shocked at the strong arm of Arizona DCS and their apparent ability to influence Nevada to take their only child who was still living with them.

According to the documents given to the Shoars on Monday, June 5, 2017, they are being accused of leaving Nytallieya “in the care of an unsafe caregiver when they left to visit Arizona.” The babysitter that is being called “unsafe” is a retired police officer and his wife, and the Shoars have left the baby in their care several times a month during their visits with their other children in Maricopa County, Arizona.

A social worker in Nevada had advised them to keep the baby out of Arizona as much as possible, since she was born in Nevada and thus out of Arizona’s jurisdiction. Thus, they had to have a babysitter that they trusted to care for the baby during the visits. When family members were unavailable to babysit, they relied on their retired police officer friend and his wife.

It looks like Arizona DCS (Department of Child Safety) has found a way to get to the baby. Tabitha told Health Impact News that she believes that Arizona Assistant Attorney General Bonnie Platter has a vendetta against the couple, and that this is retaliation by her.

Those who have been following the Shoars family saga are angry and upset that the Child Protective Agencies have the power that they do. The family believed that Nytallieya was safe. She was well cared for and was thriving. There was no immediate threat and no danger to the child. Since the parental rights, and therefore visits, were terminated, there was not likely a need for the family to need a babysitter in the near future.

The family has a 72-hour hearing on Thursday (June 8) morning at 9 am. They have no attorney yet. All of their attorneys are in Arizona, and Nevada family court doesn’t assign a court-appointed attorney until the first hearing. Tabitha and Jeff are hopeful that the judge in the case will dismiss the case and return their baby home.

After a long day in court, the Rivenburg family did not get the news they wanted to hear about Baby Steffen.

Last week, a judge approved a temporary injunction to keep the 7 month old baby from being taken off life support.

On Monday afternoon, Judge Wayne Shelton ruled that Baby Steffen’s mother does not have the right to make the decision of whether or not to take him off of life support, and he denied the request to extend the injunction.

The family has a short 24 hour, up to 48 hour, window to find a pediatric cardiologist in the South willing to testify that the baby is eligible for a heart transplant and would survive it.

Unless they find such an expert, Vanderbilt doctors, not the parents, will decide when to take Baby Steffen off of the life support machine that is keeping him alive at this time.

YES! ALL signs! He opens his eyes, squeezes my hand, puts his hands up in the air, kicks his feet. He smiles. He grimaces. He makes his little “Elvis face.”

She told us that he lifts his hands up when she plays his favorite song, “Awake, My Soul,” by Chris Tomlin.

He’s completely cognizant when he’s not heavily medicated.

Steffen responds to his family as much as he can while being limited by wires and tubes. Lisa said that he fights the medications that make him sleep.

The family has court on Monday, the day before the court order expires that is keeping Baby Steffen alive. They have been told that Vanderbilt Hospital intends to bring in a doctor from their hospital “to say the baby has no chance.”

She interviewed Bryan Ciyou and Robert Schembs, Indianapolis attorneys who represent families in cases involving DCS. They give good advice to parents who are being investigated by DCS.

They explain many of the problems and corruption found in Child Social Services that Health Impact News and MedicalKidnap.com report about regularly, including the fact that only 15% of children taken away from their parents are ever substantiated for abuse or neglect.

And as we have reported many times, often the category of “neglect” is used very broadly for poor living conditions where abuse is not present.

His family is fighting for his very life. They believe that there is still hope for 7 month old Steffen Rivenburg Jr., who was born with heart defects but was not sick until after Child Protective Services seized custody of him and his older sister on February 2.

His mother Patricia Tornberg told Health Impact News that, even though he is very sick now:

I feel like he can make a turn-around. My husband and I want to give him a chance by keeping him on life support.

After baby Steffen was taken from his parents and placed into foster care, he caught a very serious viral infection on February 17 which caused damage to his heart. A heart surgery that the parents were told would not be needed until he was 6 months old became necessary on February 23. That was followed by 3 more heart surgeries and other procedures on his tiny body.

Patricia and Steffen Rivenburg Sr. have told the hospital and the Department of Children’s Services (DCS) that they refuse to consent to taking their son off of life support, but the doctors reportedly plan to unplug him by noon on Tuesday, May 30th.

The family is requesting that everyone call the Governor of Tennessee to prevent this from happening.

Jeff and Tabitha Shoars eagerly awaited the day when they would hear the final verdict from Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. They firmly believed that the judge, who was presented with all the evidence in the case, would ultimately rule that their children should be returned home to their custody. The judge had even met with the children, who all expressed their desire to go home to be with their parents.

Just before 8 am on Wednesday morning, May 24, they learned the horrible news: their children are not coming home and their parental rights have been terminated.

                                                                                                                    They are devastated.

All the charges made against the Shoars which had been dismissed by both the police and DCF, allowing them to move their family to Nevada, were apparently reused in the current court proceedings, with no new evidence.

How did this happen? How was Arizona DCF able to kidnap children from another state and break up this family who wants to be together?

                                                                                                                    • Lorraine Harris

Mother Falsely Accused of Shaking Baby Found Innocent But Loses Everything

Once again we see the terrible injustice of the false science behind “Shaken Baby Syndrome” (SBS) and how it destroys families, often imprisoning innocent parents and caregivers. More and more courts and judges are overturning past convictions as the “science” behind SBS crumbles.

In this story recently published in Australia, Lorraine Harris was convicted of killing her baby, and then had her second child taken away from her after birth because of the false conviction. She served 17 months of her sentence before being paroled, and then fought to clear her name. She was “successful” in clearing her name, but lost everything. Her second son was adopted out and she has had no contact with him.

Ironically, Dr. Waney Squier testified in both her conviction, and in her acquittal. That’s because Dr. Waney Squier, a world renowned neuropathologist, has become one of the world’s most outspoken critics on the lack of science behind SBS. She has sacrificed her career to tell the world the truth, and to stand for those wrongly accused.

For nearly four years, Amy Fabbrini and Eric Ziegler of Bend, Oregon, have been fighting to prevent Oregon Department of Human Services’ Child Protection Services from terminating their parental rights to their children.

The agency has deemed the couple “incapable” of parenting. CPS claims that the couple cannot provide for their children because they are believed to be intellectually limited.

Since MedicalKidnap.com has started covering these stories, we have learned that child social services around the country seldom remove children from homes due to “abuse” anymore, but have now mainly resorted to using a much broader category of “neglect” where they determine who is a good parent and who is not.

This label of “incapable” placed on Amy and Eric comes as a shock to those who know the couple, given that both of the parents graduated from high school with a standard diploma, and both ranked in the middle of their graduating class.

Navy Dad Plans Hunger Strike at White House Over Medically Kidnapped Kids

In December, a Kansas judge ordered reunification for the “Hunger Strike Dad” and his children. That hasn’t happened. Though Raymond and Amelia Schwab have done everything the court has ordered them to do, they say that the Kansas Department of Children and Families (DCF) has “sabotaged the whole process.”

The Navy veteran father of 6 has had enough, and he is throwing down the gauntlet. He is making plans now for another hunger strike – this time at the White House – until President Trump acts to investigate the child trafficking by Child Protective Services, or he starves to death in front of the White House.
