Four Decades of Predatory Sexual Abuse by Prominent Southern Baptist Leader and Judge

A major investigative report on the life of Paul Pressler, the former judge and Southern Baptist Church leader who died on June 7, 2024 at the age of 94, was just published in the TexasMonthly, documenting four decades of predatory sexual abuse within the Southern Baptist Church. The author is Robert Downen, who was one of the lead reporters who exposed massive sex abuse in the Southern Baptist Churches among their pastors and leaders back in 2019 in the Houston Chronicle. In his recently published article at TexasMonthly on the life of Paul Pressler, titled: "He Remade the Southern Baptist Convention in His Image. Then Came the Abuse Allegations." - Downen gives an update on attempts to implement reforms to protect victims of sexual predators in the Southern Baptist Convention since his article shook the very foundations of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), where most of these pedophiles continue to pastor churches and still maintain leadership roles within the SBC. As he chronicles the life Paul Pressler who was a founder of the modern Evangelical Christian Conservative movement, he shows how sexual abuse charges were routinely swept under the rug and then blamed on "liberals" who they claimed were attacking them on their Conservative religious and political views. This was an incredibly written piece of investigative journalism! I learned quite a bit from it. For example, he documents how those who exposed and were victims to the predatory sexual abuse among Catholic Priests, which became widely reported in the corporate news after the Boston Globe's exposure of them, which was made into a movie, also tried to warn leaders in the Southern Baptist Convention that the same things were happening in their churches, but their warnings fell on deaf ears. The SBC is the largest Protestant denomination in the U.S., second only to the Catholic Church. Downen shows just how powerful Paul Pressler, who was also a Judge in Texas, was in influencing Conservative politics in the U.S. during the Reagan and Bush presidencies where covering up sexual abuse and child sex trafficking became the norm, and has continued to this day in Trump's second term, where we know so much more now because of the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

The State of American Christianity in 2026: Protect their Pedophile Leaders in Churches and Rejoice in the Massacre of Iranian Women and Children

Robert Preston Morris, the disgraced founder and former pastor of Texas megachurch Gateway Church, was just released from prison yesterday (March 31, 2026) after only serving 6 months of a 10-year prison term after he pleaded guilty to five counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child for a four-year pattern of abusing a 12-year-old child in his congregation. Morris formerly served on President Trump’s evangelical advisory board. I am happy to hear that Cindy Clemishire, the victim in this case, is not stopping now, but is pursuing other members of the churches and Christian organizations that protected this pedophile, because seldom does a pastor, priest, or other Christian leader commit these horrible crimes alone, without the collusion of others to cover up their sex abuses. When Pastors or Priests or other Christian leaders are caught, they are usually just transferred to another church somewhere, as we have been documenting for over a decade now here at Health Impact News. This is the sad state of Christianity in America today, where American Christians will hide and protect their pedophile leaders, while cheering the mass killing of women and children in Iran, and even praying for their destruction in their churches. As I have reported for so many years now, these pedophiles in Christian churches are so common now, that any American Christian church that does NOT have pedophiles in their ranks, would be extremely rare. I just did an Internet search on "pastor arrest sex abuse", and limited the search to just the past month, and there were more results than I could possibly reference to in this article, as it would take me many hours. Here are a few of them from the past few weeks, as you can see, they cover all varieties of American Christians, from Evangelicals to Catholics to home-school-home-churches (including a famous homeschool family with their own TV show) to Amish and Mennonites.

Pedophile Billionaires are not the Only Ones being Exposed by Victims – Christian Pedophile Pastors are also being Exposed by Their Victims

The Jeffrey Epstein victims of child sex abuse gained national exposure last month when they all met in Washington D.C. with Congressman Thomas Massie, Congressman Ro Khann, and Congresswoman Majorie Taylor Greene. Some of them came forward in public for the first time. Jeffrey Epstein is not the only person who has trafficked and sexually abused children, however, as it is commonplace in American Churches as well. And now many victims of child sex abuse by pastors are also coming forward, some of them decades later after the abuse occurred, while these pedophile pastors continued their roles in churches, sexually abusing and trafficking who knows how many other children. Often times this is done in partnership with the U.S. Government as State-licensed Foster parents, giving them access to an entire pipeline of children to abuse. One story that brought national headline news recently is the guilty plea of Pastor Robert Morris, the founder of the Texas megachurch, Gateway Church, who sexually abused a young girl back in the 1980s. How many other children did he sexually abuse during the past 40 years before he was caught? Morris is an evangelical pastor who served on President Donald Trump's Evangelical Advisory Board in 2016. NBC News has run an investigative report this year called "PASTORS AND PREY" where many victims of pedophile pastors have come forward, some of them decades later, to talk about how they were sexually abused by pastors in the Assemblies of God, the world's largest Pentecostal denomination. Some of these pastors raped and sexually abused children for decades before anyone dared to stop them, demonstrating just how much influence and power these pastors hold in their churches. And here is a recent story about the pastor of a California megachurch who is being sued for child sex abuse in Romania. As I reported earlier this week, Evangelical Christians are known for setting up orphanages in Romania to sexually traffick children, and Erika Kirk started an orphanage there when she was just a teenager, working together with the U.S. military. Evangelical Christians, Zionism, and child sex abuse - they all happen together. Welcome to the Christian United States of America, run by pedophile billionaires and politicians, and Christian pedophile pastors and priests.
