Healthy Traditions Press Release
Last week Healthy Traditions announced the launch of our new brand, Tasty Traditions, which will be producing products for the consumer market with ingredients that are Traditionally Produced and tested for the presence of the herbicide glyphosate and GMO contamination.
Healthy Traditions was originally founded as Tropical Traditions in 2002 to import Virgin Coconut Oil made by small-scale family producers to the U.S. from the Philippines. We were the first company in the U.S. to do so, proving our marketing concept that one can “scale” a business without resorting to technology and machine-made mass-produced products.
This is a more difficult way to grow a business, as one is not investing in technology, but in human labor, particularly human labor often with centuries of wisdom in traditional farming techniques passed down through generational family farms.
We have proved this business model for over 25 years now, as we have branched out into other products besides coconut oil, and renamed the business in 2017 to “Healthy Traditions.”
Last week as we launched the Tasty Traditions brand we presented options to investors to invest in a new line of Tasty Traditions products with bakery products produced with our ancient grains that test free of glyphosate, something that is very rare in the North American market, and took us years to develop. See:
Healthy Traditions Welcomes Investors to Invest in New Product Line: Tasty Traditions – Products Made from Ancient Grains not Contaminated with Glyphosate
We have had a great response to this Press Release so far, as businesses involved in the bakery industry with high standards for grains that are not contaminated have now reached out to us as we explore developing a new line of bakery products.
The reason why bakery products can now be scaled to a certain degree is because we have finally found enough farmers in the U.S. who have been able to successfully grow grains that are free from glyphosate – no easy task in the U.S. as glyphosate is even spread to other farms through rain water!
Tasty Traditions GMO-Tested Corn Products
Today, we are introducing our second product line under the new Tasty Traditions label: GMO-Tested and Glyphosate-Tested Mexican heirloom corn products!
This is one of the few consumer products that we actually produce and sell, as we use this amazing corn to make our very popular corn tortilla chips fried in our own Tropical Traditions coconut oil.
Non-GMO Corn Practically Non-Existent in the U.S.

Over a decade ago when we started testing all of our grains for the presence of glyphosate and found out that the American wheat market was almost all contaminated with the presence of the herbicide glyphosate, we also tested our USDA Certified Organic corn products.
Not only were these corn products contaminated with the presence of glyphosate, they all also tested positive for genetically modified (GMO) DNA.
We have spent literally years trying to source corn in the U.S. that is NOT contaminated with GMO DNA, and to this date have never found a source.
We have even pulled corn products off the shelves of grocery stores that were labeled “organic” and had some kind of “Non-GMO” claim, but they all tested positive for GMO DNA.
If you read the fine print for the USDA NOP (National Organics Program) as well as some of these organizations that provide some kind of Non-GMO claim, you usually find something like this:
Non-GMO claims don’t require absolute zero presence of GMO material. Instead, it sets practical thresholds:
– 0.9% for human food and supplements
– 1.5% for animal feed and supplements
Why these different levels?
They reflect both technical testing limitations and the reality of living in a world where GMO crops are widespread. It’s about striking a balance between achievable standards and meaningful verification.
In other words, if their standards were ZERO GMO contamination for corn, they would have nothing to sell!
94% of the U.S. corn supply today is grown with GMO seed varieties, and corn stalks can produce up to a billion pollen grains that can be carried by the wind to farms more than a mile away.
For a couple of years we had our Amish farmers in Wisconsin try planting an heirloom non-GMO corn on their farms in Wisconsin, but every time they did so, GMO DNA showed up by the second harvest. They tried everything to overcome this, including figuring out when their GMO corn farmer neighbors were planting their crops, and then planting theirs later so they would not pollinate at the same time.
For about 3 years, we did not sell any corn products, because our threshold for GMO testing is ZERO.
So we expanded our search into Mexico, in provinces within Mexico that had banned GMO corn from the U.S.
This has been a huge political battleground between Mexico and the U.S. for decades now, as Mexico is the birthplace of corn (maize), and many of their traditional heirloom varieties are being lost to American GMO corn seeds cross pollinating and contaminating their native varieties. See:
Mexico Takes a Stand Against U.S. Big Ag and GMO Corn to Protect Their Native Varieties of Mexican Corn
The U.S. has so far prevented Mexico from banning our GMO corn due to existing trade agreements, but there are plenty of provinces in Mexico where the people do not want it and do not plant it, unlike in the U.S.
To read about our network of small-scale family Mexican farmers who grow our corn, see our press release at the beginning of this year (2025):
Support Small-scale Mexican Farmers with Heirloom GMO-Tested Corn Tortilla Chips Fried in Coconut Oil and Shipped to Your Door!
We believe our tortilla corn chips are unmatched in the U.S. market!
I am also unaware of any corn chips currently on the market that are fried in coconut oil, rather than toxic seed oils.
There are some new products starting to appear with corn chips fried in beef tallow, as beef tallow is a traditional fat that has been in the human food chain for thousands of years.
When Dick and Mac McDonald set up the very first McDonald’s fast food burger restaurant in San Bernardino, California, in 1940, they used the fat of their beef cattle to fry their french fries.
But beef tallow alone is not necessarily healthy, as it depends on what kind of cow it came from. Back in 1940, most beef was still raised on pasture and naturally grass-fed.
Today, most of the cattle industry is raised in confined animal feeding operations (CAFO), and even most beef operations today making claims to be “grass-fed” are not grass finished, but end up in these CAFOs for the last 60-90 days of their lives before they are mass slaughtered.

Which sources are most of the American supply of “beef tallow” coming from?
And besides that, I am not aware of anyone else who tests their corn for GMOs and has a ZERO percent tolerance for GMO DNA with current corn products in the U.S. mass market.

Looking for Investors to Get These Tasty Traditions Corn Products into the National Grocery Market
As I wrote last week, many investors have offered to buy my core business over the years (Tropical Traditions – Healthy Traditions) by simply offering cash, assuming that it only takes more capital to scale our products.
However, in the business model I have run for over 25 years now, money alone cannot scale this business, because we do not mass produce our products using technology, as most of these products are produced by small-scale family enterprises that can control the quality of the products better than technology can.
It takes time and an increase in human labor, and training that labor, to grow under this model that I have established for 25 years now.
During the past two decades I have said publicly that if we want to change this country and the way we produce food, we need to move away from the 1% of the population who produces our food today and move into a community-based local food production and distribution system.
This is what has traditionally made this country strong. When Thomas Jefferson was president of the United States, about 90% of the population was employed in agriculture.
By the time of the Civil War under Lincoln, it was still 50% of the population employed in agriculture.
If we went back to “traditional” ways of producing food, giving value to the people who work to produce it, rather than investing in Big Food and then subsidizing these corporations to mass produce everything to keep prices low, it would literally transform our economy, and eliminate the need to bring in migrants, most of whom are here illegally, to run our farms.
This current investment opportunity with our GMO-tested heirloom corn will increase the production of Mexican families growing this corn, giving them a fair value in their own country with no need to move to the U.S.
Our suppliers have said they can increase their production this next growing season, so we are looking for investors today to secure a larger supply for 2026.
Unlike the Tasty Traditions Bakery investment opportunity that requires the development of bakery products and the sourcing of bakeries to create those products, this line of Tasty Traditions corn products is already established, especially the tortilla chips.
We know how to grind the corn into masa using the traditional Aztec process of nixtamalization, and how to fry them in our own coconut oil.
At times the demand has exceeded our ability to produce these authentic Mexican corn chips, requiring us to source out the production to a larger company to make them using our own ingredients, which is why some may notice some slight differences in chip thickness.
The ideal investor would invest in a larger facility to produce larger quantities, as well as have contacts in the retail grocery chains to mass market these products. We also have corn flour, cornmeal, and grits that we produce from this amazing Mexican corn.

In return, we can offer the Tasty Traditions name, logo(s), and website (TastyTraditions.com) along with our strong brand presence in the U.S. market for 23 years now, as we utilize our worldwide network of small-scale family producers to provide the ingredients for such products that meet our strict standards for being “Traditionally Produced“.
We can also offer non-exclusive use of our other brand logos, such as Healthy Traditions – Traditionally Produced, Healthy Traditions – GMO Tested, Healthy Traditions – Glyphosate Tested, etc.
As I am writing this today (November 2, 2025), leading Big Tech voices are telling us that the only way to save the U.S. economy is to invest more in AI and robotics.
“I came to the conclusion that the only way to get us out of the debt crisis and to prevent America from going bankrupt is AI and robotics. We need to grow the economy at a rate that allows us to pay off our debt.” – Elon Musk (Source.)
Well, I am a technologist too, and have been a lot longer than Musk has (since the early 1990s when I was developing AI college courses in English), and I have built my ecommerce network by utilizing the power of technology, mainly the Internet, and I beg to differ from these Billionaire Technocrats who keep saying that AI and robots are the future of economic prosperity in the U.S.
The way to save the U.S. economy is to stop wasting so much money feeding the AI bubble and robots that will NEVER replace humans, especially on the farms, and start investing in LABOR, human beings who are willing to do the hard work that is needed to grow and produce food the correct way, working in harmony with the Creator’s principles that are hardwired into the earth, and cannot be reversed by technology or re-engineered by man through biotech.
To Adam he said,
“Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat of it,’
“Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.
It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.
By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.” (Genesis 3:17-19)
